Why The Long Face?

John Kerry

Well, it's over. And of course the last to admit defeat was Kerry. (He still hasn't at the time of this post).

I have some thoughts on this election:

Maybe Ohio voted for Kerry before they voted against him.

Look on the bright side ... while the "Flip" is gone - the "Flop" part of Kerry's persona is very much alive!

Looks like John isn't the only Kerry in the "Ketch Up" business.

Yes, more people will die in combat in a terrible war that may or may not have been a brilliant proactive move (only history will tell) but that number is only about 1/100th of the innocent babies that will be killed before they ever have a chance to be born, grow up, decide to serve our country and then die at the hands of our enemies. So if innocent lives being slaughtered are important to you I guess that today's news has to come as a dissappointment.

Maybe Kerry can take back that shotgun and camo outfit to Walmart since it has only been used once?

One thing is for sure - while being a master of the English language is helpful - America has spoken (by more than 4 million votes) that being a great debator and the most liberal politician in America won't get you elected.

I'm sure Kerri can catch up (pardon the punn) on his sleep in one of 7 mansions.

With Kerry out of the picture it might just mean that the government will have to handle Air Space Defense, new highways, and putting officers on the beat. Caring for the poor, helping the sick, and teaching our children values will default to individual family members, churches and other non government sources. I know that isn't the news that most Kerry supporters wanted to hear.

If anyone is really upset that Kerry never got the chance to implement his health insurance policy they could always move to Canada and check it out first hand.

And finally, as sinical and snooty as this post has been I want to end this post with my true feelings:

No matter who had won the election or what happens in the future God is still God. America's future is not dependant on an election but on an our eternal God. The kingdom is still alive in America and breaking forth in pockets of faith every where, every day. And the world we live in is much bigger than America and we need to remember that God is in all peoples and over all nations.

This song says it best:

You Are God Alone

You are not a god Created by human hands
You are not a god Dependant on any mortal man
You are not a god In need of anything we can give
By Your plan, that’s just the way it is
Chorus: You are God alone From before time began
You were on Your throneYour are God alone
And right now In the good times and bad
You are on Your throneYou are God alone
You’re the only GodWhose power none can contend
You’re the only God Whose name and praise will never end
You’re the only God Who’s worthy of everything we can give
You are God And that’s just the way it is
Repeat Chorus Bridge:
Unchangeable Unshakable Unstoppable
That’s what You are

Amen.

Wow, there are so many things wrong with this post, I can't begin to count them..but I will anyway.

1. Everyone thought Kerry "flip flopped" because Bush said he did.

2. Go to factcheck.org, a bipartisan website, to see how Bush distorted Kerry's views on abortion.

3. At least Kerry served his time in Vietnam. Bush got out of it, thanks to Daddy.

4. "....being a great debator and the most liberal politician in American won't get you elected." It's sad when what WILL get you elected is being a narrow-minded, illiterate, gun-toting, "aw shucks" redneck.

5. While leaving caring for the poor, helping the sick, and teaching our children values to family, church, and non-govt. sources is a cute idea, it's not realistic. We need affordable health insurance, good public schools, and social security, and, yes, the government should assist with that. That's why we pay taxes. Look at your property tax bill this year when you get it.

6. Kerry never proposed a health insurance plan. He said numerous times that he would make the same health insurance available that was available to himself and other politicians, and that we would have to buy into it. The reference he made to Canada was us buying prescription drugs from Canadian drug companies. See factcheck.org.

I was impressed with the second half of this post, but it's rather contradictive of what you say in the first half. If you call yourself a Christian, you shouldn't write such hateful things about John Kerry. The election is over; your boy won, so let it go.

Thanks for listening,

Julia, Wow, there are so many things wrong with your comment, I can't begin to count them...but I will anyway.

1. Everyone thought Kerry "flip flopped" because he did. He took a poll on the peoples reaction to Osama Bin Laden's video before he made his comments. I don't need factcheck.jack to know that Kerry rides the fence more than any politician in DC.

2. Go to any intellegent human being and ask them if Kerry would have been president and a supreme court justice dies would he have picked a pro-life judge. -
"Julia, reality is on the phone and wants you to come back."

3. I'm not as learned as you but I'm guessing that flying jets for 2 years is a tad tougher than commanding a raft for four months. Let me ask you this...if a guy named, I don't know, let's call him John, works with 300 people at a computer company and 294 of them think he is a lazy bum then I'm guessing there is some truth to that. Swift Boats for Truth.

4. "....being a great debator and the most liberal politician in American won't get you elected." It's sad when what WILL get you elected is being a narrow-minded, illiterate, gun-toting, "aw shucks" redneck. (Julia, I'm impressed with your ability as a Christian to not say hateful things like me. Keep up the good work!)

(What you call cute, Julia, I call biblical. I like you to show me the verse where Jesus commands Rome to care for widows and orphans. So far your hitting worse than the Cards did in the series!)

6. I wasn't refering to Kerry's reference to Canada. (I saw the debate too Julia) I was refering to what I believe was his ideology of a bloated government health care system. Talk about unrealistic. How do you think that he would pay for said proposal? Good thing we won't have to find out!

I wasn't impressed with any of your comment, but I must say that my favorite line was this one: "If you call yourself a Christian, you shouldn't write such hateful things about John Kerry." I'm sure it is quite Christlike to refer to the sitting president in such flattering terms as you did, "a narrow-minded, illiterate, gun-toting, "aw shucks" redneck."

Julia, the election is over; your boy got his teeth handed to him, so why don't you let it go.

Thanks for listening,

You voted for the same canidate as Osama Bin Laden!
Carry that card high Julia. You should be proud.

Ouch! Liked the post. Could've done without the comments. But I guess I didn't have to read them, 'twas my choice.

Come on Peacenik...there are actually other places that report real news other than the NY Times, CBS, CNN, etc. I know it makes you feel better to get your news from those "neutral" sources but most are wise to get their news elsewhere.

...by the way, being Pro-Life has nothing to do with a women's "right to choose" but has everything to do with a fetus's right to life. But if it helps you sleep better at night, then keep telling yourself that.

Good day!
